Mastermind – Benefits of a Mastermind Group

Being part of a mastermind group can move you forward in your business, if you are in the appropriate group for you.  Many of the successful internet marketers that I know are in a mastermind group.  So that must tell you something!  I have now been in four mastermind groups and these are some of the benefits I have experienced:

1. Accountability – This is a major benefit if the members hold you accountable for what you say you will do.  This will help you stay focused.  As human beings most of us like to be a “man of our word”.  If you are serious about your internet business then being accountable will not be a problem unless there is something else going on.

2. Feedback – Honest and constructive feedback from members who have been there and done that.

3. Motivation – Having highly motivated and positive people in your mastermind group is stimulating and inspirational.

4. Support and encouragement – Sometimes we need the support and encouragement from trusted others who can help us step out of our comfort zone.

5. Commitment – The first mastermind group I was in made a commitment to a certain number of meetings.  This worked well for everyone in the group.

6. Requesting Help – Sometimes it is hard to ask for help, but you would be amazed at how members of your mastermind are willing and want to help you.

As you can see being in a Mastermind Group can be very beneficial.  Some mastermind groups can afford a paid facilitator and that can be more of an incentive to participate.  A great way to start or find a mastermind group is through your network of friends.  The best book I have found on running your own mastermind group is by my friends Joe Vitale and Bill Hibbler.

  • Good points and benefits, Elaine!

To me, masterminds are simply the “missing link” to your success. Like you, every highly successful person I’ve met online has attended masterminds or started one of their own. That fact speaks volumes.

  • I’ve been in a Mastermind group for a few years now and it’s been phenomenal. I loved reading your post and considering why our group has worked so well for me. The one thing I would add is Objectivity. Feedback leverage increases exponentially when it comes from people who can take a bird’s eye scan of what you’re experiencing. Each of us come away with fresh perceptions and insights as well as a sense of being seen and heard.

    Thanks for your post,
